Campbeltown is a coastal town located on the southern tip of the Kintyre peninsula in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. The town is situated on a small bay facing east towards the Isle of Arran, with hills to the north and south. Campbeltown was once a thriving center for whisky production, with numerous distilleries in operation during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Although only three distilleries remain today, Campbeltown is still known as the `whisky capital of the world`. In addition to whisky, the town’s economy is supported by fishing and tourism, with attractions including a historic town center, beaches, and the nearby Mull of Kintyre.
